Will it hurt?
- With sedation dentist the calming effect of the drugs enhance the action of local anesthetic. You will be in control, and if you need to stop for any reason, simply raise your hand and the sedation dentist will stop. When the proceedure is over, it is likely that you will forget nearly the entire appointment. Sleep is the word that describes it, sleep is what is used most to refer to sedation dentist.
What if I can't do it?
- No one in the office is going to force you to do anything you do not want to do. We are here to help you get what you want, done. Sleep if you want to.
But will it hurt?
- No. If you have ANY adverse feelings, or need to stop - we RESPECT your right to refuse. You and your family are in charge.
Will there be someone there to hold my hand, so to speak.
- You will be with a caring staff the entire visit. We are here for you, and you alone. Someone (preferably in your family ) will take you to the appointment (because of the premedication), and someone will bring you home (because of the residual affects of the sedative medication). You will be cared for the entire time of your dental visit.
What else do I need to know?
-Prior to sedation dental visits, there is a dental sedation consultation. Come to the office ( Westborough is between Boston MA and Worcester MA off the Turnpike), and we will let you have answers to all your sedation dentistry questions.
